FIMTE 2010

FIMTE is celebrating the fifth centenary of the Birth of Antonio de Cabezón (1510-1566), starting in June 2010. Cabezón was Spain 's greatest Renaissance keyboard composer and to pay him homage FIMTE is organising a series of activities, with the participation of well-known international musicians and researchers, who will open new areas of knowledge about Cabezón and his times. The 10th International Symposium on Spanish Keyboard Music “Diego Fernández” will be held in Mojácar-Almería, Andalusia , from 8 th through 9 th October 2010, as part of FIMTE 2010, October 8-12. In addition, in this fifth centenary year, FIMTE is organising an international online tribute C@BEZÓN500. This is the result of a joint effort by professional musicians, record labels, music students and amateur musicians who have got together to make all of Cabezón's works available online over the course of this fifth centennial year. we are calling for online performances of Cabezón's entire oeuvre -The C@BEZÓN500 Collection- open to all those who wish to contribute to this homage with their playing.
