9th INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF SPANISH KEYBOARD MUSIC "DIEGO FERNÁNDEZ"

Pre- Iberia : from Masarnau to Albéniz

Next year, 2009, is the anniversary of Isaac Albéniz's death (1860-1909). To mark the occasion, FIMTE has dedicated this, its 9 th edition, to exploring the musical environment, which precipitated the genesis of Iberia (1905-1908). Our exploration begins with a generation of pianist-composers at the beginning of the 1800's, including  Masarnau, Miró, Pujol and Tintorer and extends to Felip Pedrell, the turning point of the Spanish National school. Iberia in context. Iberia revisited.
