BIO

Rachel Doubijanski, 1998, was born in Wuppertal (Germany) into a family of

musicians. During her studies of modern piano, she has won prizes in

numerous competitions, including the J.S. Bach Youth Competition (2009 and

2011 in Estonia), Jugend musiziert National Competition (in Germany 2011 and

2014), Jugend spielt Klassik, specialncompetition for students (Remscheid,

2019, 1st prize and audience prize), van Bremen PianonbCompetition (2019,

3rd prize).

After completing her bachelor's degree in piano solo at the Robert Schumann

University in Düsseldorf in the class of Tobias Koch in 2021, Rachel decided to

focus on early music and studied harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory in

Antwerp, Belgium, with Professor Korneel Bernolet. She is now continuing her

studies in the Netherlands, studying historical keyboard instruments in the class

of Olga Pashchenko and basso continuo with Kris Verhelst at the

Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Rachel has taken part in courses for

pianoforte and harpsichord with Kristian Bezuidenhout, Costantino

Mastroprimiano, Hardy Rittner, Eva Poblocka, Christophe Rousset and Alexei

Lubimov. She also received important impulses from Ketil Haugsand and Irina

Shnejerova.

In 2022 she released her debut CD with Préludes op.11 by A. Scriabin, played

on a Pleyel grand piano from 1842 from the Edwin Beunk collection. In the

season 23/24 Rachel received a Clavichord scholarship from the Pianomuseum

Haus Eller in Bergheim, Germany, and also became a finalist at the

International Harpsichord Competition Wanda Landowska in Memoriam (in

Poznan, Poland) and received a special prize from the jury member Prof.

Menno van Delft in December.

She has recently performed at the Fringe program Festival Oude Muziek

Utrecht.
